Guide

Find the right Slack communities

Are you looking for the right Slack community to help your sales and marketing teams reach their goals?

There are many Slack communities on the internet, but the most common question we receive is, "Where can I find the right community for me?". Unfortunately, existing pages with lists of communities are often fragmented or outdated. That's why this guide will help you discover the perfect Slack communities to join.

Is your target audience active in Slack communities?

Before you start searching for communities, ensure that your ideal customer profile aligns with the Slack online communities. During our discussions with partners, we found two questions to be helpful indicators:

  • Do they primarily work at a desk? Do they spend most of their time at work with a laptop or a phone?
  • Are they digitally native? Are they naturally comfortable with digital technologies, the internet, and communities?

If you answered yes to both questions, your target audience is very likely to be on Slack and you should check out the community directory.

Enter our Slack community directory

We have already done the research on all possible Slack communities a few months ago and compiled them into one directory. This means you don't have to do the searching yourself.

You can access our directory in the app here, which provides an overview of 100+ Slack communities.

Find your ideal customer profile's communities

To find the most relevant communities for you, we recommend searching for topics that matter to your ideal customer profile:

  • Is there a community that is relevant to the department they work in? For example, if your ideal customer profile is in the IT departments, you might find the MacAdmin Slack Community helpful.
  • Is there a community for the geography your ideal customer is based in? For example, if they are based in London, you might want to check out TechLondon.

Join the Slack communities

Once you have narrowed down the list, make sure to choose a community with enough members (> 1000) and a high number of weekly conversations. Join the community by simply clicking the "Join now" button.

We hope we could help you find relevant communities. If you didn't find a relevant community or a community you want to monitor is not listed, please let us know here and we’ll assist you as soon as possible.
